Another away day awaits the Gold Coast Knights tonight as they take on Peninsula Power in a NPL QLD Round 3 catch up game! Kick off is scheduled for 6:30pm at AJ Kelly Park.
Here are three things to know before tonight’s match up:
SLOW THEM DOWN
Peninsula Power have been on a tear in front of goal recently scoring 17 goals in their last three outings across all competitions. Many began to write off the two-time champions but they have proven that they are here to play in 2022 despite their departures in the off-season.
The Knights have trailed in all but one of their NPL QLD matches to date so ensuring that they play the game on level terms or in front will be crucial to coming away with a victory from AJ Kelly Park.
A positive result up in Redcliffe will put the Knights in good position after the first 5 fixtures of the 2022 season. With trips away to Lions, Peninsula, Sunshine Coast and Capalaba to date the red, white and blue will feel confident of getting big results at home in crunch time come round two. The NPL QLD table is starting to find its course so ensuring a good position as we approach the quarter mark of the competition will prove vital come the business end.
MAKE IT TWO STRAIGHT
The last time these two sides met at AJ Kelly Park the Knights secured a 3-2 victory at the back end of the season. In the previous two meetings at AJ Kelly, Power took all three points with 2-0 and 2-1 victories respectively. Earning a big three points and making it two wins from the last two meetings will square off the overall head-to-head between the two teams.
There has never been a draw between Knights and Power and both sides will be hoping that it remains the same way, just in their respective favours.
