Three Things to Know: Bulldogs at Knights – 11/06/22

CARRARA, GOLD COAST | 11.06.22 | Mark Majdandzic

After a tough week of football and over a month away from home the Knights are set to welcome Capalaba Bulldogs to the Croatian Sports Centre this afternoon. Here is what to expect from the game;

REACTION

An Australia Cup defeat followed by a tough loss to Olympic FC will require a reaction from the side to return back to winning ways. Despite not playing at home for a month, the back end of the season sees marquee match ups a plenty which will be crucial for the make up of the 2022 season. It starts this afternoon against a Capalaba team that if given opportunities can hurt sides. Their travels haven’t been as successful as their home record but an immediate reaction is crucial to the outcome of the match.

PERSONNEL

Injuries have taken their toll on the Knights with a lack of field contact time as well as suspensions coming into play. Pasquale De Vita returns in the front third but after his goal saving denial last week key defender Janiel Da Silva will be out. It will be crucial for available players and the extended squad to come in and make a difference in crucial situations if the result is to go the right way.

HOME GROUND ADVANTAGE

Coming home always provides an added buzz and the Knights will be hoping that a strong home crowd can give them the extra 1% to get over the line. Typically beating the Knights at home is no easy feat prior to the 2021 season and although a 1-0 loss to Easts earlier in the year is a stain on the home record plenty of chances will fall the red, white and blue way to get the fortress back to its desired state.
