Gold Coast Knights have taken out the local derby by defeating Gold Coast United 1-0 away from home.

In front of a packed Coplicks Family Park, the Knights got on the front foot early and scored in the first half through a well worked play by Dauntae Mariner, finished off by in form Cai Tipaldo at the near post.

With United continuing to battle for the duration of the game, they forced Knights keeper Josh Langdon into action throughout the second half with some great saves keeping the Knights at a lead.

The Knights held on for the victory after another solid defensive display, seeing the boys in red, white and blue win their seventh consecutive match since dropping the first game against Lions FC.

As the crucial month continue to progress, all attention now turns to another big game against NPL heavyweights Olympic FC at the Croatian Sports Centre.

Kick off is scheduled for 5:30pm next Saturday evening.
