Gold Coast Knights FC have recorded back to back wins with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Magpies Crusaders United at the Croatian Sports Centre.
With a healthy crowd in considering all the bad weather around the South-East, the Knights took little time to capitalise on the scoresheet, with hat-trick hero from last weekend Jheison Macuace netting the opener within the first five minutes.
From then on as the rain continued to fall steadily throughout the 90 minutes, the Knights pressed and tried to find another goal but were unable to do so with the score set at 1-0 at half-time.
The resilient Magpies held out the Knights for a large part of the second half, before a good play saw Nick Panetta add to the Knights lead with a composed finish.
From there it was the Knights who applied all the pressure, seeing Panetta once again brought down in the box after some crafty footwork and Macuace converting from the spot to put the result beyond doubt.
In a man of the match performance, Nick Panetta once again stepped up to add insult to injury for the Magpies, scoring an absolute rocket of a finish for his second of the night and the Knights fourth of the evening.
The Knights have now scored the equal highest amount of goals in the opening three matches of the season with 9 already on the board.
The attention now turns to the away fixture against Capalaba FC on Sunday afternoon.
Kick off is scheduled for 4pm at Max Haynes Field.
