Gold Coast Knights FC continued their winning form with a dominant 9-0 victory over Redlands United.
The Knights came into the match with two victories in the week and made it a third with a comfortable win away from home.
It began quickly for the away side with Jheison Macuace scoring first again for the side within the opening three minutes and from then on there was no looking back for the rampant display in the attacking third.
Macuace finished his stellar week with four goals in the match, with Max Brown chipping in with a double and single goals to Jarrod Kyle, Mitch Nichols and Matt Henvey rounding out the scoring for the side.
Head Coach Grae Piddick had nothing but praise for his side and was impressed with how they stuck to the plan for the duration of the game after the result was out of the question.
“Scoring that many goals is impressive against anybody but more impressive was the way we kept sticking to the plan for the duration of the 90 minutes. We could have easily turned off the gas after the first 35 minutes but the boys didn’t stop and that was the most pleasing part,” said Piddick.
With the ability to score from anywhere on the pitch, the Knights have made themselves a nightmare for opposition preparation and have continued their surge as a night in night out threat in the front third, something that Piddick says is a blessing for his side.
“We know the importance of having multiple options in front of goal and the players there are comfortable when they get in those opportunities. With Macuace scoring four but multiple scorers for the other goals, it puts us in a strong position when needing goals throughout the entire season” said Piddick.
The Knights will now have an opportunity to rest throughout the week before a massive Round 5 NPL Queensland fixture against Peninsula Power at the Croatian Sports Centre.
Kick off is scheduled for 6:30pm on Saturday the 7th of March.
