Gold Coast Knights Football Club assumes control of Brisbane Knights Football Club.
Gold Coast Knights Football Club (GCKFC) today announced the acquisition of Brisbane Premier League franchise, Brisbane Knights Football Club (BKFC), effective immediately.
GCKFC Chairman, Adrian Puljich, said the move was a step in the right direction for both parties and declared his commitment to working closely with the newly formed Directors of the Croatian Community Centre Brisbane.
“This is of personal importance to me and we want this proud footballing club to be the principal driver behind restoring and strengthening the Croatian community in Brisbane,” he said.
“Further to this, the Brisbane Knights Football Club will immediately benefit from being a strategic club partner of The Magic Group. This means aspiring footballers throughout Brisbane will now benefit from a genuine player development pathway, aided by licensed and experienced coaches, under the watchful eye and leadership of Director and CEO, Adem Poric.”
Poric had nothing but praise for the newest acquisition to The Magic Group.
“We welcome the addition of Brisbane Knights Football Club to The Magic Group and look forward to developing aspiring young Brisbane footballers seeking to develop their game by exposing them to a genuine player pathway system. This system stretches from grassroots level here in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast through to the National Premier League and
beyond,” he said.
BKFC is the third strategic club partner of The Magic Group, joining existing Gold Coast franchises GCKFC and Magic United TFA.
Brisbane Knights begin the 2020 campaign with a home match against The Gap on Sunday, 8 March 2020.
